Continental Launches new UHP Tire at 2016 SEMA Show #TENSEMA16
The wheel and tire industry is such a big part of the SEMA show it encompasses pretty much the entire south hall and a good chunk of the outdoor display area as well. Motorsports, street performance, passenger, and light truck tires from a myriad of manufacturers can be seen on display throughout the hall. Every year we make a pass through the wheel and tire booths to see what’s new, but the hot news this year was actually happening outside, as Continental Tire hosted a ride-along event with some of their pro drivers to show the capabilities of its new ExtremeContact Sport UHP tire.
“We took our knowledge from the track to the street in a whole new way with the ExtremeContact Sport,” said Travis Roffler, director of marketing for Continental Tire. “We chose five of the best sports car drivers in the world to help deliver the performance driving enthusiasts demand in a tire. These drivers pushed our tires to the limits to help develop a tire that includes superb dry handling while not sacrificing any of Continental’s award-winning performance in the wet. This summer tire is ideal for sports cars and sport and luxury vehicles.”
